A recent scientific paper, published in the prestigious journal Nature Reviews in Endocrinology-currently first in the highest quartile (Q1) in the field of "Endocrinology"-takes stock of the most effective nutritional strategies for the management of type 2 diabetes.

The work was coordinated by Professor Annamaria Colao, director of the Integrated Activity Department of Endocrinology, Diabetology, Andrology and Nutrition at the Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria and full professor of Endocrinology at the University of Naples Federico II, with contributions from Dr. Giovanna Muscogiuri and Ludovica Verde, both from the same university, as well as Professor Luigi Barrea (Pegaso University) and the University of Tucson, Arizona.

The study highlights how medical-nutritional therapy is key to improving blood glucose and metabolic health, even independent of weight loss. The importance of a personalized approach, tailored to each patient's needs, is also emphasized.
