Federiciana Giovanna Muscogiuri at the European Obesity Society

Dr. Giovanna Muscogiuri, a researcher and endocrinologist at the UOC of Endocrinology, Diabetology and Andrology at the Frederick University, was asked by the European Obesity Society to serve as the director and coordinator of the position paper on medical nutritional therapy of patients with obesity and cancer in which the world's leading experts in the field of obesity participated.

"We know how obesity is a risk factor for cancer development and can also reduce the effectiveness of anticancer therapy. This position paper is the first in the literature to provide information on what are the medical nutritional therapies to treat patients with obesity and cancer by providing useful tools not only to enhance the efficacy of anti-cancer disease itself but also to reduce the risk of recurrence and mortality." emphasizes Moscogiuri.

Already the winner of numerous awards for her scientific discoveries in the field of metabolism, Dr. Muscogiuri was recently named a Knight of the Republic for scientific merit.
