Immunoveg, a Frederick spin-off, selected for TerraNext business accelerator program

Immunoveg, a promising Federico II University spin-off based at the Department of Agriculture, has been selected with six other startups from 191 applications to participate in the prestigious TerraNext business accelerator program. The program, now in its third year, which supports innovative startups and SMEs in the bioeconomy sector, is part of the CDP National Accelerators Network, a network present throughout Italy designed to promote the growth of startups specializing in high-potential markets . The result of a CDP Venture Capital initiative, Terra Next sees the participation of Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center as co-deviser and promoter and the support of Cariplo Factory, which operationally manages the program.

Founded by Manuela Maria Rigano and Vincenzo D'Amelia (both professors at the Department of Agriculture), Antonio Di Loria (professor at the Department of Veterinary Medicine) and Simona Maria Monti (CNR researcher), with the support of junior scientist Carmen Laezza, Immunoveg S.r.l. is an innovative start-up developing advanced cell culture systems derived from plant lines.

A substantial initial investment and a highly educational course at the Frederick Campus in San Giovanni a Teduccio is the opportunity Immunoveg will benefit from. The spin-off's goal is to produce bioingredients for the nutraceutical, cosmetic and novel-food sectors. The production process uses stirrers, without the use of pesticides, thus ensuring safe, healthy and environmentally friendly products. In addition, the best teams will have access to additional investments already allocated by the promoters.
