Capri Summer School on Qualitative Research Methods

La

The Capri Summer School on Qualitative Research Methods has reached the milestone of its tenth edition and is heading for its eleventh this year. It is a well-established event for young researchers in economics, management and organizational studies and has trained about 300 scholars over the years.

The eleventh edition will be held from September 8 to 12, 2025. The prestigious venue is the Federiciano Athenaeum's 18th-century Villa Orlandi in Anacapri. The methodology school, organized by the University of Naples Federico II, is held in partnership with the British Academy of Management (BAM), and the Italian Academy of Business Administration (AIDEA). The School offers young scholars in economics, management and organizational studies the opportunity to increase knowledge and skills in qualitative research methodologies in one of the most fascinating places in the world to serve as a backdrop: the island of Capri.

During the last edition in 2024, the methodology school was attended by 24 young students and researchers from national and international universities. Participants were able to attend lectures scheduled in the program, discuss and explore the topic of qualitative methodologies with faculty and fellow scholars, and participate in working groups where they discussed their research topics. Faculty is coordinated by Hugh Willmott, professor of Management and Organization Studies at Bayes Business School. Prominent faculty members and members of an international network of the school's sponsoring universities will deliver the lectures of the 11th edition, which will address the different disciplinary cores touching on the areas of Management, Business Organization and Accounting.

The initiative of the Capri Summer School on Qualitative Research Methods was born in 2013 thanks to the scientific activity of the Business Organization group of the Department of Economics, Management, Institutions, coordinated by Professor Gianluigi Mangia, professor at the Federico II University.

The organizational and coordination phase involves University Federico II faculty members Paolo Canonico, Lorenzo Mercurio, and Andrea Tomo. Faculty and participant support during the school's training days is provided by Dr. Lucio Todisco and Dr. Federica Langella.

The deadline for submission of applications for the 11th edition is May 9, 2025.

The Call for Participation is on the school's website: https: //www.caprisummerschool.it
