Physics of matter
In this research unit, we are interested in the physics of matter in all its possible states of aggregation, including atomic and molecular physics, solid-state physics, soft matter (also biological) physics, physics of plasma and of complex systems, material science and nanotechnology. Moreover, we investigate the propagation and interaction properties of photons with matter, and are therefore active in the fields of spectroscopy, optics, photonics and quantum information. Finally, we are interested in the development of novel technologies and promote interdisciplinary research. Our activities are both theoretical and experimental, often in a strict interaction with each other.
