15th National SIMMESN Congress
15th National SIMMESN Congress
Decades of evolution in the knowledge of the biology and clinic of hereditary metabolic diseases, together with the new opportunities offered by rapid advances in technology, allow us today to take stock of what we have learned in recent years and to look with renewed interest at future diagnostic and therapeutic prospects. Scheduled for Nov. 12-14, 2025, is the 15th SIMMESN National Congress to be held at the Hilton Sorrento Palace convention center in Sorrento.
These will be the main themes of the Congress: advances in preclinical research, new therapeutic frontiers in the field of metabolic diseases, and challenges related to the translation of basic research into clinical trials.
Ample space will also be devoted to new horizons in newborn screening, the identification of new disease markers and metabolites, and the potential, but also the challenges, offered by the latest genomic analysis methods.
The Congress will also be an opportunity to take stock of nutritional therapeutic approaches, which are also in continuous evolution, and to emphasize the importance of a greater understanding of the pathophysiology of metabolic diseases, an essential condition for identifying new areas of intervention. Finally, as every year, ample space will be reserved for oral communications, which will give voice to the more
younger members of the society, working groups and parallel workshops.
