14th edition of Italy-China Week
The 14th Italy China Week will take place from November 13 to November 15, 2025 in the cities of Beijing and Hangzhou, coordinated by City of Science in collaboration with the National Research Council and the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Administrative Commission of Zhongguancun Science Park in collaboration with the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology.
The Inaugural Ceremony, to be held in Beijing on November 13, will be attended by the Italian and Chinese Ministers, Anna Maria Bernini and Yin Hejun.
Following this, the two representations of CEAIE and CRUI (the associations of universities of China and Italy) will initiate the First Edition of the Rectors' Forum, envisaged by the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2024 by MUR and MOE on the occasion of President of the Republic Mattarella's visit to China. Among other things, the Forum will include the signing of a Framework Agreement between the two associations of universities and the presentation of some 20 academic collaboration agreements between universities in the two countries.
As part of the Week, Cooperation Agreements will be signed between institutions, universities, research organizations and businesses of the two countries, officially sanctioning new projects and collaborations. The thematic sessions to be held at the Beijing and Hangzhou venues, featuring Italian and Chinese experts, will, therefore, be an opportunity for shared insights on: Advanced Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence Law and Ethics, Life Sciences and Health Sciences, Marine and Polar Sciences, Cultural Heritage Protection and Artificial Intelligence, and Tropical Agriculture. The goal of the sessions is to stimulate interaction between institutes and world-class professionals from the two countries on priority issues of the three-year Action Plan.
Of particular relevance will also be the One-to-One Meetings that will provide Italian and Chinese universities, research centers, hubs and startups with a space dedicated to dialogue and building new partnerships in the academic, scientific and industrial fields. China-Italy Week of Science, Technology and Innovation is confirmed as a key moment to support research and innovation, enhancing achievements in areas considered priorities by both countries.
