Industrial Archaeology Showcase

On Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at 10 a.m., Circolo Ilva in Bagnoli (Naples) will host the inauguration of the Industrial Archaeology Showcase, a new space dedicated to the historical memory and enhancement of the industrial heritage of the former Italsider area.

The initiative, organized in collaboration with the Ilva Circle of Bagnoli, the Donnaregina Foundation for Contemporary Arts - Madre Museum, the Ministry of Culture, General Directorate of Archives and the Archival and Bibliographic Superintendence of Campania, is part of the program of the event "Artists for Bagnoli 2025," which aims to promote the creation of a widespread museum in the former industrial area, as a tool for knowledge, protection and cultural revitalization of the territory.

The inauguration will be attended by artists Antonio Biasucci, Sergio Fermariello, Luciano Ferrara, Gianni Fiorito, Mimmo Angela and Barbara Jodice, Raffaela Mariniello, Giancarlo Neri, Enzo Rea and Sergio Riccio, who will talk about their experiences and connection with the factory and the industrial landscape of Bagnoli, through testimonies and artistic reflections matured over the years.

Institutional greetings will be given by Giovanni Capasso, President of Circolo Ilva Bagnoli, and Gabriele Capone, Archival and Bibliographic Superintendent of Campania. Angela Tecce, president of the Fondazione Donnaregina- Museo Madre Napoli, will introduce.

Showcase of Industrial Archaeology represents the first nucleus of an exhibition and documentary itinerary dedicated to the productive, social and cultural history of Bagnoli. The project aims to promote the active participation of citizens, artists and institutions in the construction of a new cultural identity for the area, based on the memory and enhancement of its industrial heritage.

At the end of the event, steelworker pasta and beans, according to the recipe of the Italsider canteen, will be offered by Altoforno Bistrot.

The event is open to the public.
