The October 2025 issue of A World of Buffalo inaugurates a new journey through science, technology and awareness, weaving the thread that connects health, environment and society.

Sante Roperto and Giovanni Di Guardo reflect on the often forgotten role of veterinary doctors inpublic health emergencies , from COVID-19 to other crises that remind us how "one health" really means caring for people, animals and the environment together.

From the Master of Science in Scientific Dissemination and Communication in Public Health (DISCI) comes contributions from Francesco Di Dona who shows how 3D printing can revolutionize orthopedics, offering innovative and accessible tools to improve clinical practice and patients' quality of life, and Valeria Mazziotti who takes us among the planet's seas to reveal how plastic that invades ecosystems ends up on our plates.

Closing this issue is Nada Mzid, straight from the Science Café, who takes us on a journey from satellite to laboratory to listen to the hidden voice of the soil, reminding us how earth observation technologies can become valuable allies in environmental protection and scientific research.

Contributions will also be posted and narrated on the Department's official social profiles: Facebook page and Instagram profile.
