Sailing Tomorrow 800anniversary

On October 7 and 8, 2024, the third edition of the Sailing Tomorrow conference will be held, this year included in the celebrations of the 800th anniversary of the University of Frederick. Sailing Tomorrow 800anniversary is organized by Circolo del Remo e Vela Italia together with the students of the Sailing Team of the Department of Industrial Engineering coordinated by Professors Carlo Bertorello, Fabio De Luca and Antonio Lanzotti.

The Conference, focused on the sustainable development of high-performance sailing technologies in both racing and auxiliary propulsion of ships, is a moment of high-profile academic education and a contribution to the scientific community. Sailing teams from the Polytechnics of Milan and Turin and the Universities of Aston (Uk), Genoa, Naples Federico II, Naples Parthenope, Palermo and Trieste will present their latest results and compete in the waters of the Gulf of Naples for the Federica CUP. The races will be held on RS21 one-design boats, the same ones used for the Universiade, provided by the Italian Sailing Federation's Committee V Zone, with the support of CRV Italy.

The day will be opened on Oct. 7 by the President of Circolo Remo e Vela Italia Roberto Mottola Di Amato together with the Director of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Nicola Bianco and the delegate for the celebrations of the 800th Anniversary of the Foundation of Federico II, Valentina Della Corte. At the end of the regattas, Provost Rita Mastrullo will award The Federica CUP winning team.

Sailing Tomorrow 800anniversary is held thanks to contributions from CRV Italia, SEAS4.0 Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree, the University of Naples Federico II and the V Zona FIV.
