Naples DiverCity project: LGBT listening and counseling desk

The LGBT Listening and Counseling Desk represents a space for LGBT people to listen, welcome and support people facing crucial moments of their existence, especially those who have been victims of violence or have experienced incidents of discrimination. The counter aims to promote the well-being of individuals and the protection of rights, offering social, psychological and legal support provided by a team of experts and skilled workers. It also provides information on public and/or private social services in the area, activating, where possible, an accompaniment service.

Recipients: the Center's recipients are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual and Transgender people, as well as people who present Intersexuality or Disorders of Sexual Differentiation, as well as all individuals belonging to the users' primary and secondary networks, who feel the need for welcome, listening and support in reference to situations of discomfort experienced.The desk is also aimed at citizens who need information to overcome discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation.

Location and hours: the LGBT Listening and Counseling Desk operates at the premises of SInAPSi, an Athenaeum Center to be addressed for temporary difficulties, disabilities, specific learning disorders, at 1 Porta di Massa Street, Staircase C, Mezzanine Floor (Elevator, Level 1).
The Desk is open every Monday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesdays from noon to 5 p.m., and Thursdays from 1 to 6 p.m.

NapoliDiverCity is a project promoted by the City of Naples under the POR Campania FSE 2007/2013 and includes
an extensive program structured in listening, training, communication and research activities.

The goal is to foster the inclusion and support of homosexual and transgender people who are victims of more or less veiled forms of discrimination that preclude their full involvement in the social and work sphere.
