In order to honor the memory of the victims and to continue the work of raising awareness on the issues of transportation safety and in the research and dissemination of related good practices, the Committee decided to promote the Fourth Edition of the Degree Award "Committee October 8, 2001 - in order not to forget" to be awarded to a/one young scholar who has deepened with his or her research project or thesis paper, the topic of "Emergency governance in the field of multimodal transport - air, rail, sea, road and highway - with particular reference to the psychosocial and psychological support to be given to the people involved (Family Assistance)."

The initiative also draws its full basis and deep motivation from the activities promoted by the Committee on the occasion of the commemoration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Linate plane crash and the simultaneous celebration of the National Day "For Do Not Forget," which falls on October 8 each year. Established in memory of the victims of the tragedy and all those who lost their lives in air accidents and in events attributable to other modes of transport, this anniversary takes on a high civil and symbolic value, configuring itself as a moment of dutiful commemoration and renewed collective commitment.

It represents, in fact, a moment of particular relevance to promote the culture of transport safety, reaffirming the importance of the protection of user rights, respect for human dignity and the safeguarding of life.

The prizes to be awarded will be €2,000.00 each (gross of withholding taxes).
