Fifty works from futurism to contemporary creativity in the Royal Apartments of MUSA - Museums of the Royal Palace of Portici: from Oct. 25, 2025 to April 12, 2026, the exhibition "NOISMI. FOR A FUTURE WITHOUT ISMI," curated by Michele Citro, invites the public to an unprecedented dialogue.

The exhibition, through medium and large format works, places side by side in sixteen rooms masterpieces by historical masters such as Umberto Boccioni, Leoncillo Leonardi, Mario Schifano, Tano Festa and Vettor Pisani with works by contemporary talents such as Chiara Capobianco, Sabatino Cersosimo, Luigi Citarrella, Angelo Andrea Citro, Mario Ferrante, Alessia Forconi, Ignazio Fresu, Paolo Garau, Angelo Giordano, MiTch Laurenzana, Franco Losvizzero, Fulvio Merolli, Giuseppe Negro, Francesco Pennacchi, Giuseppe Palermo, Biljana Petrovic, Marzia Ratti, Francesco Scialò, Aniello Scotto and Emanuele Scuotto.

Already the author of the ONYRIA and Presepe Contemporaneo exhibitions, Salerno-based curator Michele Citro returns to MUSA to explore the legacy of a movement that marked the 20th century.

The exhibition not only celebrates Futurism, but also analyzes its impact with a critical and constructive gaze. Through this intergenerational comparison, the continuities, ruptures and reinterpretations that Futurist aesthetic principles inspired are revealed. The goal is to offer the visitor a new key to understanding, showing how the different souls of Futurism remain surprisingly relevant from traditional art forms to digital art and artificial intelligence.

MUSA Director Professor Stefano Mazzoleni says, "MUSA, a museum facility of the University of Naples Federico II, continues to enhance the Reggia di Portici as a place where art, science and culture dialogue dynamically. With NOISMI. For a future without isms we reaffirm this vision, bringing contemporary art back to the Royal Apartments and making the Reggia a vital center of creativity and research.

The imminent opening of the Museums of Agricultural Sciences will complete this path, consolidating MUSA as a point of reference for the enhancement of the Vesuvian territory and for a culture capable of combining memory and innovation."

The exhibition has the support of MUSA - Museums of the Royal Palace of Portici, the patronage of theUniversity of Naples Federico II, its Department of Agriculture and the Metropolitan City of Naples. The event also has the valuable support of the Edizioni Paguro Cultural Association, the patron Roberto Bilotti Ruggi d'Aragona, the Cultural Association Biennale Spaces, the Marta Czok Foundation and London Metropolitan University.
