MusicbeyondMusic, closing event
On Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, at 7 p.m., the Church of Saints Marcellinus and Festus in Naples, Largo San Marcellino 10, will host "Giuseppina the Singer, " a scenic-musical action around Franz Kafka's last short story, the closing event of the MusicaoltrelaMusica festival organized by N.O.S. in partnership with the University of Naples Federico II.
The musicians of the Scarlatti Young Orchestra will play, act and move on stage, mixing fragments of the Kafka text with a rich and varied sequence of solo and chamber pieces: Stravinsky, Rossini, Berio, Britten, a new ad hoc music by the young Neapolitan composer Giuseppe Galiano, and more. This is to evoke the mythical story of Giuseppina, portrayed on stage by young clarinetist Silvia Porzio, a little mouse with a faint whistle who consecrates herself as an artist in a subtle game between mystification and beauty, within the closed and trembling world of the mouse people: the ultimate Kafkaesque 'hallucination,' pregnant with prophecies.
Tickets online: https: //www.azzurroservice.net/stagioni-teatrali/nuova-orchestra-scarlatti/ and at TicketOnLine presales or at the box office from one hour before concerts.
