Massimo Troisi to receive honorary degree from Federico II

Massimo Troisi awarded honorary degree in 'Disciplines of Music and Performance. History and Theory'. The University of Naples Federico II will confer him the honorary master's degree in memory at a ceremony to be held on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the Complex of Saints Marcellinus and Festus, in Largo San Marcellino, 10, Naples.

The ceremony will follow the academic protocols of conferring honorary degrees; it will lack togas and, of course, the usual graduate lecture. Instead, there will be testimonies from people who shared, in his short but intense life, professional paths and friendships. The witnesses have all accepted with affection and emotion to bring their contributions to support the decision of the University of Frederick, urged by Enzo Decaro, to confer academic recognition on the man and artist Massimo Troisi.

Speeches by Rector Matteo Lorito and Andrea Mazzucchi, director of the Department of Humanities, will introduce the ceremony. Artist Anna Masecchia, coordinator of the master ' s degree program in 'Disciplines of Music and Performance. History and Theory'. Speaking, witnesses in attendance, will be Enzo Decaro and Anna Pavignano. Lello Arena will be there. Renzo Arbore, Giuliana De Sio, Vincenzo Mollica and Carlo Verdone will bring video testimonies.

At the end, Dean Lorito will conclude the ceremony with the proclamation and delivery of the parchment to the Troisi family.
