Professor Giuseppe Trautteur, emeritus of computer science at the Department of Physics "Ettore Pancini" of the Federico II University, where he taught Cybernetics, Theoretical Computer Science, Computability and Complexity, has passed away at the age of 89.
He hasbeen a consultant for the Adelphi publishing house since the 1970s, editing scientific aspects and translations of books. He was himself the author of several publications.
His research activity has focused on evolutionary algorithms, neural networks, computability theory, computational complexity theory, the comparison of analog and digital computation, computational modeling, and computational aspects of biological systems.
Appreciated for his contributions to issues in cybernetics, over the years he has investigated the physical foundations of mental processing, particularly human consciousness and the mind-machine relationship.
