Honorary Master's Degree in Mathematics to Jorge J. Moré

An Honoris Causa Master's Degree in Mathematics will be conferred on Friday, October 15, 2021 , to Jorge J. Moré.

Jorge J. Moré is certainly among the most influential figures in the field of numerical optimization, and his scientific production includes some of the cornerstones of the field.

The award ceremony will be held at 12 noon in the Aula Magna Storica of the University of Federico II, Corso Umberto I, 40.

Introducing the scholar's merits will be speeches by Matteo Lorito, Rector University of Naples Federico II, and Cristina Trombetti, Director of the Department of Mathematics and Applications "Renato Caccioppoli." Gerardo Toraldo, Professor of Numerical Analysis at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, will deliver the Laudatio Academica. This will be followed by the Lectio Magistralis by Jorge J. Morè and the conferral of the Degree.

In compliance with anticovid regulations, seating is limited and the lecture hall is by invitation only.
