The University of Naples Federico II is ranked among the best universities in the world in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject.
The 14th edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject, published by global higher education analyst QS Quacquarelli Symonds, provides an independent comparative analysis of the performance of more than 16,400 individual university programs pursued by students at more than 1,500 universities in 106 locations around the world, in 55 academic disciplines and five broad areas of study.
Federico II is ranked for 30 teachings: 5 move up in the rankings, 4 enter the Ranking for the first time, 19 remain unchanged and only 2 lose positions.
Agraria, Pharmacy, Geology, Environmental Sciences and Biological Sciences go up, and in particular the Federico University enters the world top 100 in Pharmacy with the 85th position (90.4 Citations per Paper, 92 H-index Citations) and in Agriculture with the 93rd position (89.1 Citations per Paper, 88.3 H-index Citations).
New entry for Dentistry which already ranks among the top 100 in the world, followed by Materials Science, Psychology and Sociology.
Of the 5 teaching areas that group the different disciplines, in 4 the Federico II gains positions: from 7 in Engineering & Technology, up to 32 in Arts & Humanities, placing 191st and 261st worldwide, respectively.
The area 'Classical Studies and Ancient History' remainsan excellence of the University of Frederick II again this year, with its 36th place globally.
QS uses five key parameters to compile the subject rankings. Reputation indicators are based on responses from more than 240,000 employers and academics to QS surveys, while citations per article and the H-index measure research impact and productivity. The International Research Network (IRN) is used to assess cross-border research collaboration.
