Federiciana Angela Procida is bronze at the World Paralympic Swimming Championships in Singapore

Angela

Federiciana Angela Procida won a bronze medal at the World Paralympic Swimming Championships in Singapore in the 100-meter backstroke S2. Procida swam in 2.32.32, giving the Italian colors a prestigious world bronze. The young woman from Castellammare di Stabia brings another joy to Italy after the bronze she won at the Paris Olympics in the summer of 2024.

The young athlete is enrolled in a master's degree in Biomedical Engineering and had received her bachelor's degree in July 2024, a few weeks before leaving for the Paris Olympics, showing great determination in pursuing a dual career: university and sports. Procida, not surprisingly, is in fact a testimonial for the 'Frederick Athlete' program aimed at promoting sports and supporting students engaged in competitive sports.

And it was precisely for her achievement at last year's Olympic Games that the rector of the University, Matteo Lorito, presented her with the commemorative medal made for the 800th anniversary of the founding of Federico II last September.
