Eni Award honors Federican Francesca De Falco
There is also a researcher from the Federico II University among the winners of the 2020 edition of the Eni Award. In fact, Francesca De Falco has received the Young Researcher of the Year award, which is given to two researchers under 30 who have received their doctorates from Italian universities.
Dr. De Falco conducted a study on an environmental issue of considerable relevance such as microplastic pollution, and, in particular, on the impact of synthetic fibers used in textiles, identifying the main release mechanisms of these emerging micropollutants.
Now in its 13th year, the Eni Award has over the years become an international benchmark for research in the fields of energy and the environment. The award aims to promote better use of energy sources and stimulate new generations of researchers in their work, reflecting the importance Eni places on scientific research and innovation.
