AOU Federico II in the field for international day against violence against women
It directly addresses the male universe in the video made by the Federico II University Hospital for the International Day Against Violence Against Women.
With a strong symbolic value, the video "Let's talk among men" stems from the awareness that countering violence against women must personally involve men, who are called to actively promote a cultural change based on awareness and collective responsibility.
The video launches a direct message:"Saying 'I'm not like them' is not enough." Therefore, it is not enough to distance oneself from those who commit violence, if one then remains silent in front of any gesture, word, comment that of violence is only the prelude. That silence that, as the video states, "saves no one." The footage will be broadcast starting Nov. 25 on the Videometrò News Network, the TV of the Naples metro, funicular and circumvesuviana, in collaboration with the Azienda Napoletana Mobilità (ANM), and will be posted on the social channels of the Azienda federiciana.
"We have a duty not only to heal the wounds of violence, but also to prevent it by promoting culture and awareness. The video 'Let's talk between men' is an invitation to collective responsibility and to recognize in respect and empathy fundamental values: the first concrete step to counter all forms of violence," stresses AOU Federico II Director General Elvira Bianco.
The video urges turning awareness into action and understanding that change cannot be delegated solely to institutions or victims, but requires personal and shared responsibility "to remember that respect is strength, empathy is courage, and that violence is only the surrender of those who do not know how to love."
"ANM is proud to partner with the Federico II University Hospital for the awareness campaign that will be broadcast on all our media starting Nov. 25. As ANM, we feel a responsibility to promote a culture based on respect, listening and solidarity. Countering gender-based violence is a shared commitment that requires the participation and awareness of everyone," stresses Professor Rita Mastrullo.
With this initiative, the Federico II University Hospital Company renews its commitment to promoting a culture of respect and disseminating tools to prevent all forms of violence.
