Antonino Squillace, full professor of Processing Technologies and Systems at the Federician Department of Chemical, Materials and Industrial Production Engineering, has been elected president of the Italian Association of Manufacturing Technologies, A.I.TE.M.

A.I.TE.M. is a recognized association aimed at academia and industry, with a special focus on young people in training. It promotes the study, development of knowledge and application of technologies and processing systems in its different aspects: from the characterization of materials to their transformation, from the management and control of production processes up to the management of quality and environmental protection with a view to sustainable development.

The association promotes numerous events and actions oriented to the dissemination of knowledge in the field of manufacturing, independently and in collaboration with national and international partners. It is divided into sections, promotes the activities of its own Academy for the training of advanced academic and industrial professionals, and organizes numerous themed events, most notably Manuthon®, a kermesse for the country's young innovators.

At the annual meeting held in Bari at the association's national convention, Professor Squillace was unanimously elected president for the two-year term 2025/2027, succeeding Luca Settineri of Turin Polytechnic.
