GIS DAY 2025

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the 17th annual GIS DAY conference, in conjunction with the world event and with the international support of ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute), entitled GIS DAY 2025 - decision support tools and gis technologies for the analysis and complex management of territorial, infrastructural and urban systems, will be held at the Aula Magna of Palazzo Gravina of the Department of Architecture - DiARC of the Federico II, starting at 9:30 a.m.

The 17th edition will be dedicated to recent GIS-based approaches and technologies applied to issues of particular interest to the scientific community, such as: multi-hazard environmental, climatic and pandemic analysis in complex urban fabrics, strategic urban planning for sustainable development, and landscape protection and regeneration with the adoption of resilient strategies and solutions.

The conference will be divided into three sessions sequentially Health, climatic and environmental multi-risk assessment, Landscape enhancement and regeneration and Strategic urban planning for sustainable development.

All papers submitted and accepted at the end of the review process, will be published-as every year-in an edited monograph with related ISDN entitled: GIS DAY 2025: GIS for Land Governance and Management.

Prizes will be awarded for the best papers presented at the conference, judged on their originality and innovative content.

The awards ceremony will take place at the end of the day and will be handled by the conference's technical and scientific committee composed of Ferdinando Di Martino, Barbara Cardone, Vittorio Miraglia, Rosa Cafaro and Cristiano Mauriello.

Teachers, experts and scholars interested in participating with a presentation, to send an abstract (max 2 pages in word format) including: title; first and last name of each author; e-mail address; affiliation; keywords (max 5) and brief bibliography.

The abstract should be sent to Barbara Cardone at: b.cardone@unina.it, by Nov. 10, 2025. The presentation to be written according to the prepared format, provided following submission of the abstract, should be a maximum of 12 minutes in length and should be forwarded to b.cardone@unina.it, by November 18, 2025.

The publication resulting from the paper presented at the conference must be received by e-mail to Professor Ferdinando Di Martino at fdimarti@unina.it by April 13, 2026.

The paper should be prepared following a format sent to the authors following their participation in the conference.
