Francesco Palumbo is the new president of IASC, International Association for Statistical Computing
Francesco Palumbo, professor of Statistics in the Department of Political Science at the University of Naples Federico II, isthe new President-Elect of the International Association for Statistical Computing (IASC); he will serve as president for the two-year period 2027-2029.
IASC is one of the oldest sections of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) and brings together scholars in the field of computational statistics from around the world. Palumbo conducts research in the areas of applied and computational statistics, with a focus on the development of methodologies for data analysis and interpretation, actively collaborating with national and international scientific networks.
His election as President of IASC is a significant recognition of his scientific authority and a source of pride for the Department and the University.
