LALEOLAB EVENT - FEBRUARY 26, 2024 - CILIBERTO CLASSROOM
LALEOLAB EVENT - FEBRUARY 26, 2024 - CILIBERTO CLASSROOM
On Feb. 26, 2024, the event"Hunting for stereotypes LALEO LAB: the word to the schools" will be held in Ciliberto Hall from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.The event represents a first moment of restitution and confrontation by the schools that have joined the LaleoLab project, a project that has spread to schools thanks also to the sharing of the Campania Department of School, Social Policies Youth Policies.Participating in the event will be about 700 male and female students from about 20 schools in Naples and its province, who, in the second part of the morning, will present their works (video, story, song, play) on gender sterotypes.
LaleoLab is a board game that aims to bring to light the existence of gender stereotypes and patterns that condition, both consciously and unconsciously, the behavior and choices of individuals, contributing to the educational segregation of new generations as well as to the various forms of discrimination and violence against women.
We play with words in a peer group to identify and deconstruct gender stereotypes without pre-conditioning, because it is through language that our social representations of gender are replicated and consolidated. Laelolab was conceived by researchers from UNINA's Department of Physics and delI INFN-Section of Naples as part of Third Mission activities, and its implementation is part of the actions of the University's Gender Equality Plan (2022-2024). Thanks also to the sharing of the initiative by the Campania Department of Schools, Social Policies Youth Policies, the game has been distributed and used to date in more than 50 Secondary Schools in the region as a tool for civic education and awareness of gender issues, as well as for the purpose of establishing a community of practice.
