Summer: FlixBus boosts connections to Naples and opens a new stop in Afragola

FlixBus has boosted its routes with Naples and its area for the summer, to offer those departing from the province even more travel opportunities in Italy and abroad.

In addition, the green bus company has analyzed bookings departing from the Neapolitan city through September 2025: the data that emerges captures the travel habits of Neapolitans.

Today, more than 200 destinations, in Italy but also abroad, can be reached from Naples without any change.

In particular, as of this year, Neapolitan passengers will be able to directly reach attractive international destinations such as Paris (which joins Nice, Marseille, and Lyon among the connected cities in France), Budapest, and some resorts on the Istrian coast in Croatia, as well as Munich and Zagreb. With just one change in these cities, many more destinations can obviously be reached.

In addition to inaugurating these new international connections, FlixBus has strengthened domestic routes departing from Naples.

Throughout the summer the capital will be connected with Rome more than 200 times a week, with Bari up to 58 and, on the long haul, with cities such as Florence (up to 98 times a week), Milan (up to 54) and Bologna (up to 45). In addition, special connections are now in place with summer destinations such as Gallipoli (21 trips per week) and resorts on the Riviera Romagnola such as Rimini, Riccione, Cattolica and Milano Marittima.

As always, night connections will also be active on both cross-border routes and many domestic routes, allowing travelers to optimize their time.

In the ranking of the most popular destinations for Neapolitans, Rome and Bari dominate, coming in first and second respectively.

Closing the podium, in third position, is Fiumicino Airport, which is connected up to six times a day with the possibility of even leaving at night and reaching Terminal 3 in the early morning hours.

Looking at the top 10 destinations, the overwhelming victory of Puglia emerges among Neapolitans' heart destinations: in fourth place is Lecce (up to six rides a day, including one at night) and in seventh is Gallipoli (up to three rides a day, including one at night). Further down, in 11th and 14th positions are also Taranto and Brindisi.

Many Neapolitans, then, will remain in the South this summer, while moving to the Adriatic and Ionian sides. Among those heading abroad by plane, however, many will arrive at Fiumicino by bus.

A new stop is operational at the Afragola high-speed train station, which is thus linked to Rome and Florence.

In the province, the new stop joins those already active in the capital (at the Central Station) and in the towns of Pompei, Castellammare di Stabia, Sorrento, Meta, Sant'Agnello and Vico Equense.

This year FlixBus turns 10 years old in Italy, and wants to celebrate this milestone together with the people who, since its launch on the Italian market in 2015, have used the service in the country. To involve them in the celebration, the operator has launched a social contest by raffling off round-trips to any of the 6,800 destinations reached worldwide.

To participate, simply take a photo of your trip aboard FlixBus and share it on Instagram by tagging the @flixbus account with the hashtag #10FlixBusIT.

One photo will be awarded each week until August 17, 2025. Full details can be found in the dedicated section of the website: Enter the contest for 10 years of FlixBus in Italy!
