Advanced Course in Food Safety, Nutrition, and Wellness: New Call for Applications Now Available Online

Applications for the Advanced Course in “Food Hygiene, Nutrition, and Wellness” at Federico II University will be accepted from September 11 to November 9, 2026. The university has published the call for applications to admit 120 graduates to the program for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The program, offered by the Department of Biology, is designed for graduates interested in acquiring specialized skills in the fields of nutrition, food hygiene, and wellness promotion.
The goal is to provide specialized training on key topics related to nutrition, the development of personalized dietary plans, and nutrition education. Particular attention will be given to the mechanisms of body weight regulation, body composition, metabolic syndrome, and the principles of food hygiene and safety.
The course lasts one academic year for a total of 1,500 hours, divided into 60 hours of lectures and practical sessions, 500 hours of e-learning, and 940 hours of independent study. Attendance is mandatory for at least 80% of both in-person and online activities.
The curriculum covers topics ranging from food safety and the HACCP system to the physiology of nutrition, from the Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) to nutrition across the different stages of life and in relation to major medical conditions. The program also includes practical exercises on assessing nutritional status and body composition, developing dietary plans, as well as in-depth modules on sports nutrition, vegetarian diets, counseling techniques, eating disorders, and the organizational and managerial aspects of running a private practice.
Applications may be submitted from September 11 to November 9, 2026, by 12:00 p.m., by delivering them to the Department of Biology, Laboratory of Nutritional Physiology (Via Mezzocannone 8), by email to mariapia.mollica@unina.it, or by certified mail with return receipt requested.
