On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 3:30 p.m., in the Pessina Lecture Hall of the Main Building of the University of Naples Federico II, the series “School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Quaderni, ” published by FedOA – Federico II University Press, will be presented.
Launched during Lucio De Giovanni’spresidency , the series was conceived as a forum for exchange among the various disciplinary fields of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, with the goal of fostering dialogue across disciplines and highlighting cross-cutting and interdisciplinary research.
In its twelve years of activity, the series has grown to nearly fifty volumes, becoming a shared platform for the development and dissemination of research findings. This commitment to interdisciplinary exchange is also open to contributions from scholars and perspectives outside the University, based on the belief that dialogue between different approaches can enrich research and foster new opportunities for in-depth study.
The event will open with remarks by Nicola Bianco, Full Professor of Industrial Technical Physics and Vice Rector of the University of Naples Federico II, and Marcella Corduas, Full Professor of Statistics and Vice President of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Speakers will include Lucio De Giovanni, Professor Emeritus of Roman Law and Ancient Law and former President of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences; Roberto Delle Donne, Full Professor of Medieval History, President of the “Roberto Pettorino” University Library Center, and Coordinator of FedOA – Federico II University Press; and Edoardo Massimilla, Full Professor of History of Philosophy, an internal member of the University of Naples Federico II’s Board of Trustees and of the series’ Scientific Council.
The presentation will therefore provide an opportunity to look back on the journey undertaken over the past twelve years and, at the same time, to reflect on the role that an interdisciplinary series can play in promoting and disseminating research in the humanities and social sciences.
