To the memory of Gaetano Montanino the first reading point of the "3L Network for Naples"
On Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at the Sant'Eligio plexus of I.C. Moricino-Borsellino, there will be the inauguration of the first reading point of the NETWORK 3L FOR NAPLES - Books and Readings 0-6 for Legality, dedicated to the memory of Gaetano Montanino, a victim of duty at the hands of organized crime who was killed on Aug. 4, 2009 in nearby Piazza Mercato.
The project, promoted by the Annalisa Durante Association, is supported by Cepell under the call for proposals "Leggimi 0-6," in partnership with I.C. Moricino-Borsellino and AIB-Italian Library Association, with the collaboration of the Polis Foundation of the Campania Region, Gatto Verde Edizioni and numerous Third Sector entities operating in the city of Naples.
The inauguration will be one of the stages of the "Job-Shadowing" (learning in the field) program put in place by the French Ministry of Education, which will be visiting Naples to learn about and deepen its good educational practices on legality. The delegation, from Corsica, will consist of teachers, magistrates and journalists, and will be accompanied by officials from USR Campania. In particular, Annalisa Durante association president Giuseppe Perna, together with librarian Nunzia Pastorini, school principal Giuliana Zoppoli and teachers from I.C. Moricino-Borsellino involved, will illustrate the practice of early reading for the prevention of juvenile deviance and some educational actions aimed at promoting active citizenship among middle school students. The latter pertain to the "Educating in Forcella" project, supported by the Department for the Family of the Presidency of the Council to combat educational poverty. In this particular case, students will simulate the practice of small parliaments, with the discussion and approval of proposals for action for legality to be presented in the coming months to the Prefect of Naples and the institutional representatives of the Campania Region and the City of Naples.
The initiatives will be attended, among others, by family members of innocent victims of crime Lucia Di Mauro, widow Montanino, and Giannino Durante, Annalisa's father, to testify to the experience of restorative justice and social regeneration of which they have become interpreters to show young people the path of legality.
