Peppe Barra to receive honorary master's degree in theater literature, writing and criticism

The University of Naples Federico II will confer Peppe Barra an honorary master's degree in theater literature, writing and criticism. The ceremony is scheduled for March 24, at 11 a.m., in the Church of Saints Marcellinus and Festus, in Largo San Marcellino. Barra's lectio magistralis strictly set to music will follow at 11:30 a.m. The motivation for which the Athenaeum decided to award the artist with the title is: "Artist, son of artists, with his particular professional and intellectual ability, Peppe Barra has brought the culture of the local tradition into an international dimension. Very high is his artistic value and the cultural prominence of his work."

Peppe Barra has been a member of the Scientific Committee and lecturer of the second-level master's program in Literature, Writing and Theater Criticism at the University of Frederick for many years. His lectures and writing workshops have always been held in classrooms packed with theater enthusiasts and scholars as well as students.

The title ceremony will be introduced by the Rector, Massimo Marrelli, and the director of the Department of Humanities, Arturo De Vivo. The laudatio academica will be delivered by Professor Pasquale Sabbatino, professor of Italian Literature and coordinator of the master's program.
