'Verso Sud Academy,' agreement signed for a Euro-Mediterranean Academy

The memorandum of understanding "Verso Sud Academy" was signed for the creation of a Euro-Mediterranean Academy, which provides, among other things, for joint governance between Italian institutions and those of partner countries in the Mediterranean, with courses distributed among Italian and Euro-Mediterranean universities.

The agreement sees the Federico II University of Naples and the Polytechnic University of Bari as lead partners along with the University of New Giza (Egypt), the Euromed University of Fez (Morocco), the Association of Arab Universities and the Union for the Mediterranean.

The signing took place within the framework of the fourth edition of the Forum "Towards the South: The European strategy for a new geopolitical, economic and socio-cultural season in the Mediterranean," organized by The European House - Ambrosetti aware of the crucial importance of human capital and the growth of talents to make any development strategy for the South and the Mediterranean concrete and lasting.

The primary objective is to promote close academic collaboration within the region, facilitating knowledge exchange and mutual enrichment between educational institutions and the private sector. The design of the educational programs will focus on strategic areas for sustainable development and innovation in the Mediterranean Region, in close connection with emerging local and international skills needs.

The Euro-Mediterranean academy will include, among its activities, the involvement of scientific and managerial excellence from partner universities to offer interdisciplinary and future-oriented programs such as: Energy and Environmental Transition, Advanced Science and Technology (STEM), Sustainability and Innovation in the Agribusiness Chain, Public Policy and Governance. There is no lack of interconnection with the Mattei Plan to support its projects with adequately trained human capital.
