"DUAL - Dichotomies in Urban Agendas and Logics."

montagne

The conference "DUAL - Dichotomies in Urban Agendas and Logics" will be held on September 29 and 30, 2025 in Naples, at the Department of Humanities of the Federico II University, as part of the European project AURORA 2030.
The event is part of the activities of Task 2.4 "Establishing the Hub for Culture: Identities and Diversities" and is in continuity with the course Challenges in Europe, held between April and June 2025 in collaboration with the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE).

The conference, in English, aims to reflect critically and transdisciplinarily on the theme of the city and urban space, exploring the multiple dichotomies that cut across its material, social, political and symbolic dimensions. Center/periphery, inclusion/exclusion, mobility/immobility, visibility/invisibility, up/down, light/dark, are just some of the dichotomies that can be used as a tool to critically read the past, understand the challenges of the present and imagine a new future for our cities.

The Call for Abstract is currently open, until July 31, 2025, for undergraduate students (bachelor's and master's degrees); doctoral students; recent graduates; and young researchers.

To apply (or request more information), you can send an email to dual.auroraconference@gmail.com.
A certificate equivalent to 3 ECTS is provided for all students who participate. Selected contributions will be published in a collective volume planned for 2026.
