Health Surveillance
What is health surveillance?
Pursuant to Legislative Decree No. 81 of 2008 Consolidated Act on Health and Safety in the Workplace, health surveillance means the set of health checks carried out by the Competent Doctor aimed at protecting the health status and safety of Workers, in relation to their health conditions, the work environment, risk factors and the way in which the work activity is carried out.
The health surveillance visit is therefore arranged in the interest of the Worker himself, to safeguard his safety and well-being at work.
Who is subject to health surveillance?
Structured Workers (teaching staff and technical-administrative personnel) and Equivalent Workers (doctoral students, assignees, scholarship holders, contract workers, student trainees, thesis students, etc.), for whom the Risk Assessment Document (DVR) indicates an exposure to risk such that the regulations in force require it, are subject to health surveillance.
Who in the University carries out the activities related to health surveillance?
The University has entrusted the Department of Public Health (DSP), through a special agreement, with all activities related to health surveillance. The Competent Doctors appointed under the Convention are Prof. Luca FONTANA, as Coordinating Competent Doctor, Dr. Fabio SITO and Dr. Emanuela SPADARELLA.
Is the Worker obliged to undergo the health surveillance medical examination?
According to Art. 20, paragraph 2, letter i) of Legislative Decree 81/08, the Structured Worker and Equivalent Worker exposed to risks are obliged to undergo the medical health surveillance examination arranged by the Employer.
What assessments is the Worker subjected to?
The assessments to be carried out depend on the health protocols that the Medical Officer prepares for each risk profile based on the information contained in the respective Risk Assessment Documents.
What is the purpose of the health surveillance visit?
How to receive the results of the visit and the certificate of fitness for the job?
The purpose of the health surveillance visit is to issue a judgment of fitness for the specific task, which is communicated to the Employer and the Worker himself.
The judgments may be of:
- fitness;
- partial, temporary or permanent fitness, with prescriptions or limitations;
- temporary unfitness;
- permanent unfitness.
Once the examination has taken place, it will be possible for the Equalized Worker to consult and download his or her certificate of fitness for the specific task - as well as the personal medical report containing the results of the medical investigations carried out and any suggestions for the General Practitioner - by accessing the following link with his or her UNINA https://unina.koamed.it/equiparati.html e-mail credentials after receiving relevant notification by e-mail.
How does the summoning of Equated Workers to medical examinations take place and what happens in case of inability to go to the examination for the date of summoning?
The operational procedures for the identification by Departments/Facilities of Equated Workers to be subjected to health surveillance are outlined in the operational instruction areapre.iop.laveq available at
www.unina.it/documents/11958/41957787/areapre.iop.laveq.pdf
Once the Equated Workers in need of health surveillance have been identified, the Employers of the individual Departments/Facilities, through the Departmental Contact Person, shall periodically communicate to the Health Surveillance and Document Management Office the lists of Equated Workers to be examined at the e-mail address sicurlav@unina.it using only the laveq form, which can be found in the section
www.unina.it/ateneo/modulistica/area-prevenzione-protezione
The Health Surveillance and Document Management Office draws up the calendar of examinations by coordinating the requests coming from the various Departments/Facilities, in temporal order of arrival and on the basis of the availability of the Outpatient Clinics, and communicates it to the requesting Facility, which will then take care of promptly disseminating said calendar to the interested parties by internal communication.
The Visiting Outpatient Clinics are located at Building 13 of the University Polyclinic (AOU13)(google map), for Equated Workers incardinated at Facilities in the Historic Center, Portici and Hospital Area, and at Building 1 of the Monte Sant'Angelo Complex (MSA01)(google map), for Equated Workers incardinated at Facilities in the Fuorigrotta and Monte Sant'Angelo Area.
The Equated Worker who, for any reason, will not be able to report for a visit on the assigned and communicated dates must, at his or her own care, report his or her name to the Departmental Referent of competence or alternatively to his or her Tutor Teacher, in order to be included in future lists of requests and thus be able to make up the visit.
For information on the conduct of health surveillance visits, scheduled medical investigations and the status of processing reports, you can contact the University Health Surveillance Call Center, operating Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 0817462129, or write to sorveglianza@unina.it
