Academic Senate

Academic Senate

The functions of the Academic Senate are set out inArticle 17 of the Statute.

The information on this page is published in accordance with art.14 of Legislative Decree no.33/2013 and in light of what was specified by ANAC (National Anti-Corruption Authority, formerly CIVIT) in Resolution no. 144/2014, published on October 20, 2014; pursuant to the combined provisions of the same art.14 and previous art. 7 of the aforementioned legislative decree, the same are reusable (with no further restrictions other than the obligation to cite their source and respect their integrity), with the exception of any information concerning the non-separated spouse and relatives within the second degree.

Members of the Academic Senate sit in that body free of charge, except for the payment of an attendance fee in the amount of 36.15 euros for student representatives only: by resolution of the BoD of 22.2.2005, it was established to "pay student representatives in the Academic Senate an expense reimbursement of 36.15 euros for each participation in the meetings of the aforementioned body."
In this regard, it should be noted that the ANAC - in the Guidelines containing indications on the implementation of Article 14 of Legislative Decree 33/2013, issued with Determination No. 241 of March 8, 2017 - while highlighting that gratuitousness must be understood as the absence of payment of any form of remuneration, allowance or attendance fee, has specified that, where the attendance fee constitutes a mere reimbursement of expenses related to the performance of the assignment, it does not invalidate the gratuitousness of the assignment itself.
In view of the essentially restitutory nature of the attendance fee paid to student representatives in the Academic Senate - as a means of ensuring the reimbursement of the petty expenses related to the performance of the office - they were deemed exempt from the obligation to submit their data for publication purposes; other academic senators are exempt, on the other hand, as they perform a completely free mandate.
Therefore, as of the year 2016, they can consider themselves exempt from the obligation to transmit - for the purpose of publication on the University website - data pursuant to Article 14 of Legislative Decree 33/2013, as amended,in view of the reform brought about by Legislative Decree No. 97/2016 (which in the case at hand is configured as an abrogation, by virtue of the gratuitousness of the office, of the obligations previously provided for Board Members and Academic Senators, as members of political-administrative bodies) and the annual nature of the declarations provided for by that norm.
