Jayneil Master, CivSoc International Tour Officer: "It was insightful to hear from the professors about University of Naples Frederico II and also to hear from the Metro staff about the project (…) It was really interesting to hear about Naples and they gave us many suggestions for how we should use our time. The visits to the Metro stations were incredible. None of our group had seen anything like it and were amazed at some of the artwork that had been installed as well as the scale of the stations compared to London. For us to have a guided tour really gave us an unforgettable experience in Naples. "Furthermore, the support in arranging our visits and coaches from the Erasmus Point team was invaluable. They were always available for us if we needed any help and collected us from the airport when we arrived giving the students advice on what to do."

Fiona Walport Chair of CivSoc: "We are tremendously grateful to all the work you put into hosting our visit and organising such a fantastic day last Friday. You played an instrumental part in making CivSoc's tour to Naples possible and our visit to your University really was the highlight of the trip. The visit was over and above what we could have expected and I know that all the students really valued and appreciated the day and the work that you put into organising it.

It was fascinating to find out about the history of Univerisity of Naples Frederico II, as well as some of the leading research that is currently carried out there. To be taken round the Art Stations by some of the key engineers involved was also a unique experience and the stations themselves really are a remarkable collaboration between engineering and art.

Thank you too for inviting your students to take part in the activities. It was great to meet them and share our experiences of studying at our respective universities and they gave us lots of ideas for what to do with our remaining time in Naples. The trip is a great opportunity for our students from all years to intermix, network with students and staff from the host university, experience engineering abroad and discover a new culture and the historical past of a city, and Naples lived up to all of these."

Professor D A Nethercot, Emeritus Professor of Civil Engineering Imperial College London:"Dear raffaele, I have just heard from Fiona that the CivSoc visit to Naples was judged to be an outstanding success. Our students greatly enjoyed and appreciated the technical day that you had organised for them - not just the splendid lunch and the opportunity to converse with your students but all aspects of the technical content. My thanks to you and your team for going to so much trouble and for achieving such a splendid result."
