The Campania Region has launched Spazio PIU, a guidance service dedicated to college students with disabilities to support them in their transition from college to the workforce. The service is aimed at students in their penultimate and final years of bachelor’s and doctoral programs, as well as graduates who have completed their degrees at accredited universities in Campaniawithin the last six months.
The opening of this dedicated information center represents an important opportunity to create effective conditions for accessibility, participation, and autonomy, while also facilitating a smooth transition into the job market.
With the support of staff from the Employment Centers, the help desk offers personalized career guidance, skills assessments, assistance with signing employment agreements, and advice on protective regulations and incentives for job placement. In addition, it organizes sessions focused on preparing for job interviews, evaluating self-employment projects, and exploring funding opportunities for starting new businesses.
The service also promotes observation workshops, training, and on-the-job mentoring, with the goal of developing personal autonomy, decision-making skills, and the ability to plan one’s own career path.
The initiative is part of a regional strategy involving universities, employment services, vocational training, and the business community, designed to foster more inclusive access to employment and ensure that students with disabilities have equal opportunities for entry into the labor market.
