Santolo Meo is the new Director of the National Interuniversity Consortium EL.MO

Elected to lead the nation's leading academic community in the field of electric mobility

Professor Santolo Meo, full professor of Converters, Electrical Machines, and Drives in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology - DIETI, was unanimously elected Director of the National Interuniversity Consortium EL.MO (ELectrification of Mobility) at the meeting of the Governing Council on July 1, 2026. The EL.MO Consortium includes 15 public universities, including Federico II, and represents the leading national academic community in the field of electric mobility.

The Consortium conducts research and training activities in the field of electric mobility, defined as the set of technologies involving the application of electrical and electronic devices to enhance the environmental, economic, and social sustainability of transportation systems operating in the terrestrial, maritime, and aerospace sectors, and provides support to European, national, and local government bodies in planning and oversight processes related to sustainable mobility.
