AIST Research Awards 2024-2025. Awards Ceremony.
On Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025 at 5 p.m., at the De Sanctis Lecture Hall of the Frederick Department of Law, a ceremony will be held in which theInternational Association of Late Antique Studies, chaired by Professor Lucio De Giovanni, emeritus of Roman law, will award young scholars, from both Italy and abroad, who have particularly distinguished themselves for their doctoral theses and research projects on late antiquity, considered in its many historical, legal, literary, and archaeological aspects.
The relevant selection, announced by the same Association, with co-financing from Banca Stabiese, saw applications from researchers who had graduated from leading Italian, European, and American universities. The ceremony, preceded by greetings from the Rector, Matteo Lorito and the Director of the Department of Law, Carla Masi, will conclude with a lectio magistralis by Professor Arnaldo Marcone of the University of Roma Tre on the theme: 'Late Antiquity: the reasons for a periodization. The following day, Thursday 20, at 9:30 a.m., at the Scuola Superiore Meridionale, after greetings by Professor Arturo De Vivo, Head of the School, the research projects of the awardees will be discussed, with the participation of scholars from various disciplinary backgrounds.
