Professor Andrea Mazzucchi elected president of the Pio Rajna Center

Andrea Mazzucchi, professor of Italian Philology and Dantean Philology and director of the Department of Humanistic Studies at the Federico II University, is the new president of the Pio Rajna Center.

The Pio Rajna Center, based at the evocative Villa Altieri in Rome, has been a point of reference for the research and appreciation of Italian literary and linguistic history for about forty years , with a special focus on the work of Dante and his commentators, Machiavelli, Aretino, and the autographs of Italian literati. Through conferences, critical editions, seminars and international collaborations, the Center promotes an ongoing dialogue among scholars, contributing to the dissemination and enhancement of Italian cultural heritage in the world.

The election of Professor Mazzucchi, who succeeds Enrico Malato, who was named honorary president, represents not only an important recognition of his scholarly commitment and the authority of the Frederick School in the field of humanistic studies, but also brings with it a vision oriented toward strengthening scholarly activities and opening them up to the wider public.

Future goals include the strengthening of publishing projects, the use of digital technologies for research, and greater attention to the training of young scholars.
