The 7th edition of Unimusic 2026 is set to begin
Music and Culture Festival presented by the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti, in collaboration with the University of Naples Federico II. Two opening concerts will take place on September 5 and 6 in the Cortile delle Statue.
In the grand and welcoming setting of the Cortile delle Statue in Naples, the 7th edition of UNIMUSIC 2026 kicks off on September 5 and 6 at 6:30 p.m.: a festival organized by the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti in partnership with the University of Naples Federico II, promoted and funded this year by the City of Naples as part of its 2026 cultural program, in addition to regular support from the MIC and the Campania Region.
Saturday, September 5 —Symphonic concert by the Scarlatti Junior Orchestra, a much-anticipated and captivating event featuring some 80 young musicians, under the direction of Gaetano Russo, in a vast repertoire ranging from Beethoven to Verdi, and featuring the very young Elene Lamartora as cello soloist in the “Sinfonia dai Masnadieri.”
Sunday, September 6—*Le Stagioni*, a brand-new music and dance performance centered on Vivaldi’s beloved *Four Seasons*, performed for the occasion by the Scarlatti Young Orchestra with young soloists from the orchestra, and reinterpreted on stage alongside young dancers in original choreography by Emma Cianchi and Nyko Piscopo.
These two events will kick off a diverse program that, through September 30, will feature 12 productions, pairing Federico II’s historic and prestigious venues with some of its most modern spaces: in fact, a large part of the festival will take place between the Cortile delle Statue and the Science Museums, in the heart of the historic university campus, steeped in memory, history, art, and culture, though there will also be significant events at the futuristic campuses of San Giovanni a Teduccio and Scampia, major outposts of urban regeneration; an opportunity to foster dialogue between the city center and the suburbs, a contribution to the vision of a polycentric and inclusive city pursued by current cultural policies—a vision that has always been at the heart of the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti’s mission for the local community.

Friday, September 11, Cortile delle Statue at 7:30 p.m.: “Ennio,” an original tribute to the genius of Ennio Morricone, which will evocatively and innovatively blend music, cinema, and storytelling, featuring the N.O.S. conducted by Paolo Vivaldi.
Friday, September 18, Cortile delle Statue at 7:30 p.m.: Gershwin, featuring Sicilian pianist Giuseppe Gullotta and Alessandro Tirotta conducting the N.O.S.
Tuesday, September 22, and Wednesday, September 23, both at 5:00 p.m.: at the Auditorium of the San Giovanni a Teduccio University Campus (on the 22nd) and at the Main Auditorium of the Scampia University Campus (on the 23rd), “Campus in Musica,” a musical gathering/event with the audience “without a set format.”
Sunday, September 27, Cortile delle Statue at 6:30 p.m.: Mozart/Tchaikovsky with N.O.S. and solo violinist Riccardo Zamuner, an emerging Neapolitan talent.
Wednesday, September 30, Cortile delle Statue at 7:30 p.m.: “Sentimento” – Avion Travel & N.O.S., an evocative and refined crossover between classical music and art-pop.
All of this is interspersed with the “Music at the UNINA Museums” series: lively musical journeys through the treasures and curiosities of the Mineralogy Museum (September 10), the Paleontology Museum (September 17), Physics (September 24), and Anthropology (September 28), always at 4:00 p.m.
