Statistical Methods for Randomized Controlled Trials and Observational Studies

The research activity pertains to two different branches which refers, respectively, to Randomized Controlled Trials (RCT) and observational studies.
In the first context, the research focuses on the application and the development of statistical methods in all the phases of an RCT, from the critical step of the trial design process to the analysis and interpretation of the results. In the context of Observational Studies, the research activity refers to the improvement of statistical methods able to discover associations that are both relevant form a clinical point of view and unbiased with respect to confounding factors. The application contexts cover several area of clinical research with a particular focus on Pediatrics, Nephrology  and Oncology.
