1. Design and implementation of strategies for approaching the number in the basic school, also inspired to methodologies from other countries, to stimulate early forms of algebraic thinking.
2. Analysis of primary students’ problem solving processes, where the constraints coming from the real contexts evoked have to be taken into account.
3. Epistemological, linguistic and cognitive aspects of basic mathematical topics.
4. Study and implementation of educational courses based on problem solving, in which ambiguities and errors of the students are seen as opportunities and resources to build new knowledge.
5. Analysis, for the training of teachers of all levels, of the essential components of the Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching, and production of innovative materials for teachers in training.
6. Analysis of aspects of the professional figure of teacher-researcher.
