Theoretical Physics

The unit groups researchers active in the theoretical description of physical phenomena. Research is performed starting from fundamental principles and with the help of mathematical and computational tools: the development of application of  mathematics related to the investigation, theoretical description and modelling of physics phenomena is part of the scientific goals of the unit. Among others, activities of the unit include research on foundations of physics, on dynamical systems, on statistical aspects of complex systems, on special and general relativity and relativistic theories and also covers physics research related to didactics, history and public engagement.
