Immunology and Microbiology

Several research projects focus on the understanding of unaddressed functions of the immune system and of immuno-related diseases. Other research teams are developing projects aimed at addressing various aspects of medical microbiology, mainly focusing on the development of molecular tools for the diagnosis of infectious diseases. Examples of these studies are those focusing on the role of pathogenic autoantibodies in systemic sclerosis or of glycolysis that controls the induction of human regulatory T cells.
