POWER ELECTRONIC CONVERTERS, ELECTRICAL MACHINES AND DRIVES

This research area is related to the analysis, design and characterization of electrical machines as well as to their applications and integration. This area of research also covers sensors and actuators, power electronic devices, converters, drives.
Fall within the scope of this area all the foundational and applicative aspects of electro-mechanical and electronic energy conversion. The research goals of this area are related to energy production and distribution, with the aim of achieving an efficient usage of (both traditional and alternative) energy sources in order to make energy available in the form, amount and quality needed by the various industrial applications, electric and hybrid transportation systems, commercial and civil buildings.
