ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS

This research area is related to both theoretical and experimental aspects of the study of electromagnetic fields, as well as to their applications. Research also deals with electrical, electronic, optical and photonic components, circuits and systems for which electromagnetism is relevant.
Fall within the scope of this research area the following topics:
- electromagnetic propagation modeling;
- design and characterization methodologies for circuits and antennas;
- electrodynamics problems, radiation and diffraction;
- remote sensing and its application to environmental monitoring and biomedical diagnostics;
- electromagnetic compatibility and interactions of electromagnetic fields with biological systems;
- production of synthetic materials for electomagnetic applications;
- analysis and synthesis techniques for micro- and nano- electrically-controlled structures for nanotechnology and biomedical applications.
