Evaluation and decision-making

Researchers working in this field investigate the theoretical premises and methods of assessment and evaluation, with the following objectives: a) developing approaches for the estimation of buildings, plants and businesses, costs, prices and yields, indemnities, rights and tariffs, and for the formulation of profitability assessments in civil, industrial, and environmental contexts; b) developing approaches and tools to assess the economic and financial viability of plans at various scales, estimating their effects on natural and landscape resources, and their mercantile and non-mercantile effects, through monetary and quali-quantitative methods; c) developing integrated decision-making process aimed at offering alternatives for the enhancement and transformation of urban and rural areas; d) producing multidimensional assessments of alternative transformative actions to assess relative impacts on the components of the historic urban landscape.
