"Impacts of Climate Change and Sustainable Engineering Responses"

Il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile, Edile e Ambientale ha organizzato la prima edizione della Mediterranean PhD School, dedicata quest'anno al tema dei cambiamenti climatici che ormai minacciano seriamente il Pianeta, con un sensibile impatto sull'ecosistema, sulla qualità della vita e sull'economia. Le Nazioni Unite con il summit del 23 settembre hanno richiamato l'opinione pubblica internazionale su questo tema.

L'evento, dal titolo "Impacts of Climate Change and Sustainable Engineering Responses" si terrà nelle aule della Scuola Politecnica e delle Scienze di Base a Piazzale Tecchio, dal 7 al 12 ottobre 2019 e tratterà le risposte che l'ingegneria civile può dare in termini di adattamento e mitigazione dei cambiamenti climatci. Le lezioni saranno tenute da 22 relatori di fama internazionale provenienti da vari paesi europei e da alcuni docenti del Dipartimento. La Scuola sarà frequentata soprattutto da dottorandi provenienti dai Paesi del Mediterraneo e dall'Asia, dieci dei quali sostenuti con borse messe in palio dal DICEA.

La Scuola di dottorato, inquadrata nelle iniziative del progetto del Dipartimento di Eccellenza, sarà ripetuta ogni anno su temi di grande attualità a cui l'ingegneria civile, edile e ambientale sia in grado di dare contributi.

The Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering of the University of Naples Federico II, announces ten scholarships of 800 euros each to support PhD students from foreign universities wishing to participate in the first edition of the Mediterranean PhD School, organized as part of the "Department of Excellence" project. This year the School will focus on the theme: 'Impacts of Climate Change and Sustainable Engineering Responses' and will be held in Naples, in Piazzale Tecchio, in the week 7-12 October 2019.
Lectures will be held by 22 internationally renowned speakers from various European countries and some professors from the Department. In this way DICEA intends to become a reference point for Mediterranean countries in the disciplines of its competence and to attract and involve young foreign researchers in its research.
